Here's another thought. As Zoe will be collecting some fab photos of all our boys and girls, what about taking 12 class winners and putting them on a calendar, with the calendar for sale? I don't know if the timing might be a bit late for a 2007 calendar but otherwise it's something we could think about for next year. I'm happy to investigate costs, etc. if there is enough interest.

I think you will find you are too late for this year, we have started selling the EMW 2007 calendar about 2 weeks ago and it is going well, I see they are in the shops this last week too. It is the first one we have done, I can let you have the publishers name and more information if you PM me - - the photos do need to be very high quality (I forget the exact no. of pixels) for printing.
If anyone is interested in buying a copy of the EMW one for 2007 details are on the website in my signature. (as always if you would like the money to go into the IDHG appeal account I can do that no problem).

Thanks, chanellie. I thought it might be a bit late. Or, thinking positively, a bit early, for the 2008 calendar. We could still use the photo comp entries, picking those that are good enough quality as well as good calendar entries. I'll PM you if there is any further interest in the idea for next year.

i think a calanderwith the winners of the photo show is a great idea. Another might be of 12 horses that have passed over to rainbow bridge, a way of helping them live on in our memories....Can we have one of patch included?...!

Hiya - you should be able to sort one out for this year...... check out www.cafepress.com ... you can make your own calendar, and people them order them online one by one. You don't have to pay any money to set this up. If you have the pics ready, it only take about 20 mins online and your get your own webpage with calender displayed, and you can set what price you want for it. Then you direct people to site and off they go You can also buy them from shop at a discount yourself to sell on, as the shop owner. Heres an example: www.cafepress.com/joeshorsestall.52293130

(I thought I'd posted a reply but it's vanished - never mind) Thanks, el. I suppose my only negative thought on that site is the US postage if people are buying calendars one by one. There is a UK site that does on-line calendars, not quite the same, which is www.top-gifts.co.uk. The rates look fairly reasonable if there is enough interest. What do the fundraising peeps think? Maybe we should put something up on the general horse section to see what the interest is?

PDF is just a file type, jen. For example, most computer software comes with manuals in PDF format now - it's just so much cheaper than printing great big books and much more environmentally friendly. However, the point is that you can send the calendars out electronically (i.e. email 'em), then people print them at home thereby saving a great deal of cost and hassle all round. Neat, eh?
