I think there should be a prerequisite that any benefitting charity should have a 'non-violent' attitude to all animals. (IE they don't believe whipping horses is a proper method of communication)

Equine Grass Sickness Fund its a disease that can effect any horse, kids pony or million £ racehorse. The fund pays for the research and the treatment of horses admitted to the the Royal D**k veterinary college.

Redwings Horse Sanctuary, I have supported the since I was a child and have been very pleased to see they have a very open approach to their training of horses, in particular wild ones. They do amazing work in rescuing and recovering feral herds and then working with them.
Also the Thoroughbred Rehabiliation Centre, they do fantastic work for those horses left behind after they are no longer of use.

Great choice and the best news for Shy Lowen - I know that very very many sanctuaries are struggling in this recession, with more horses needing help and fewer people able to donate.
