Announcement on the 2009/2010 Charity
After doing the final checks to get the 09/10 charity appeal up and running, we unfortunately found out that our choice of beneficiary this year was not a registered charity. When we set up the IHDG fundraising committee and aspect of the board, one of the agreements we had was that only registered charities could be supported to stop any potential issues or disappointments in the future.
So, to this end we sadly have to find a different charity to support. This doesn't mean that IH is distancing itself from the NFB in any way or don't agree with what they do - they do sterling work and deserve support but we have to keep to our fundraising rules.
We would like to ask DGers to put forward registered charities for nomination - the committee will have a look at all applicants and chose one or maybe two to support. The only rules are they must be registered with the charities commission.
If you would like to put forward a charity please post below.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Kelly and Lorraine have asked me to let everyone know that this years nominated DG charity is: The National Foaling Bank.
Since it's foundation in 1965 by Miss Johanna Vardon, The National Foaling Bank has united thousands of orphan foals with foster mare who have lost their own foal.
Every year hundreds of owners also call the National Foaling Bank for help and advice on difficult foaling cases, twenty-four hour nursing, and information about colestrum, milk replacements, and special dietary requirements.
Remarkably, this operation has been run for all this time on a "shoestring" budget relying on donations, sponsorship, and a membership scheme to ensure the work continues.

Fundraising starts today so please keep dipping into the Charity Section for exciting new ideas, auctions and fun stuff. If you have any ideas for us please just shout – the more we can get everyone involved, the more we can raise for this brilliant charity. 100% of funds raised here and on the Classified Section go to the charity
