What a great idea, by then I should be down in North Devon (Bideford) so would volunteer as rider or organiser.
Just a note, Badminton is usually on that weekend, I know because 2nd May is my birthday!

Hey! Me, Me, Me!!! I'm in Surrey would love to ride and have loads of people who will want to ride too.
Wow, can't believe I just cought up with this thread.
Just been reading through - what a brilliant idea. One big massive UK ride!
I Am happy to help organise where I can, just let me know Laura what needs to be done - route planning, stewards, etc.
Maybe the 'baton' could be an IH Sash?

Oh what a fab idea count us in as a yard approx 10-12 of us could cover Redbourn area of Hertfordshire though will have to go in pairs as some of the horses are youngsters!

My husband and I are both A and E nurses and have been first aiders for many events, although probably smaller ones! We would be glad to come along by car from start to finish if the insurance companies accepted this?

Although obviously each County I'm sure should notify the emergency service - if the numbers are really huge they may well send along St Johns....let us know

wow thanks folks ........ I just got back from the yard and catching up ... I will make not of all names ;D There seems to be two different principles here ...... either a long ride over a couple weeks with an individual, perhaps pair, doing the main role of passing a baton / sash traversing the country. OR each county / area having groups of riders riding a route around the county / area over the two days ? maybe we can integrate the two with the long ride aiming to finish on the sunday so that all rides finish / party at the same times ? did I write this before will need to find out a few things about the IH fundraising structure ............ bear with me folks for a bit ...... keep the suggestions coming though

still feel if we can get bridle rides on our side they would be great at getting a route started, think they stop at the pennine way in derby shire, though, from where i live it could be coordinated up through morecambe to cumbria, potto maybe your local bridle group could help out with riders, maybe team gb endurane? an ad in equiadds or the like might start the ball rolling,
