Hi Folks Amber is Kai's mum. I'm trying to trace Kai's history to find out a bit more about his breeding, and where he's come from. Kai and Amber were bought from a dealer in the Bodmin area, along with another mare and foal in early 2008. Amber is apparently about 12.2hh and New Forest. I'm told she was/is a rearer. I believe she was sold in mid 2008 to someone as a prospective jumping pony but don't know anymore about her unfortunately. I'm interested in getting in contact with people that knew her before she wound up at the dealer's (would be thrilled if they knew who she was bred to, to produce Kai!) and would also love to chat with her current owners and find out how she's doing. This is her: And some gratuitous photos I've been sent of Kai as a teeny baby ;D

Bless her she's gorgeous, Kai was a cute baby too! Do either Kai or his mum have registered names? always worth googling them if they do! Otherwise if there a New Forest website you could put an advert up on?

In February I bought a NF gelding from our local sale. When I got the passport I was diappointed to find he was not registered at all. He was a very typey NF. His passport had a pink cover and issued by the Dartmoor Pony Society. I was told he was bred on Bodmin moor. I will try to get the name of the breeder on the passport for you. They may have been bred by the same person. Here he is, all skin, bone and fleas I am sad to say.

Kai came to me without a passport and just his stable name so I know very little about him. Oooh, Donnalex, that would be great, thanks!

His passport is away at the DPS. His name is simply 'Quest'. Will get the breeders name and address asap, but I do remember the address was in Cornwall.

Thanks - am quite hopeful as Quest looks an awful lot like my friend's yearling who came from the same place as Kai. He's a cutie, look forward to seeing more photos of him after some TLC

HI Chloe I may have missed this in your post, if you have the Passport no: you could try the New Forest Stud Book: www.newforestpony.com/studbook.htmlOr post on the NFED which is for Forest Commoners & their Ponies... Good luck with your search LE x

Upping this to say thanks to Donnalex - I got in touch with Quest's breeders who are lovely and sent me a picture of his mum and sister (if you PM me your email address I'll forward it on). Unfortunately she doesn't recognise Kai, Tim or their mums so the search continues. Thanks for the NFED reminder Lady Equine - I'll try that!

Ambers real name is pickles2 or pickles3, i named her amber. Was not sold as a jumping pony, was sold as a companion. She also had sweet itch, i did alot of research into where she came from and found nothing. I bought amber and kai from a dealer in ripley in surrey, he has no details on where they came from as swopped them with something with a guy who couldnt remember where they came from!!! Id keep going down the bodmin route but would say because of her problems she would have passed hands alot to may be difficult to trace. I can give you the number of who i sold her too?
