For my cat- Spike. Aged 13 years and 7 months. I sadly had to let him go as he had kidney failure and I didn't want to put him through aggressive treatment.
Dear little Spike. You have been a huge part of my life for nearly 14 years. This Saturday I had to let you go. I could see you no longer had that sparkle in your eyes.
It was the hardest thing to do, and I hope that it was the right thing for you. Please stay close to me, and let me know that you are near.
I hope that you are now reunited with your best friend Benson, and that you are both happy and at peace together.
You made me laugh so many times, when I found you up on the roof of the house, and the times I would have to come looking for you as you disappeared on one of your adventures. You were never far away though. Everytime I cook sausages, I will save you one- I shall miss you pinching them behind my back- you always were a cheekly little man.
I already miss your purring and everytime I look down at your spot I expect to see you there and you are not. I shall never stop thinking about you, and your dear little face. I hope you are nice to all those other cats on rainbow bridge and don't go round terrorising them!!
It has been unbearable this weekend without you, and I don' t think I will ever get used to not having you around. I keep listening out for the tinkling of your bell as you used to come running over the roof tops every evening when I got home from work. I hope you forgive me for doing what I had to do do, and know that you were loved so very much despite all my moaning at you for being messy with your food.
Anyway sweet dreams my Spiky. I will never stop thinking of you, and I will make sure I keep talking to you always. Love you little man. Your mum Kathryn xxx
