Ermmmm well, considering I went out looking for a confidence giving gelding and came back with a neglected mare it must be fate! Star is essentially the horse version of me, shy, worried about new things, stroppy, stubborn, highly opinionated, obsessed by food........ need I go on but through having her I have started an amazing journey discovering myself. I know I need to be certain things in order to help and support her and it's literally changing my life. Through having her I am becoming a better person and that's a truly special gift she's given me, that perception shift to see myself. It is not easy, many times I've doubted I can do it but my love for that hairy beast pushes me onwards, even when others doubt my ability. What I have learnt and have yet to learn is immense, and she and I are on a journey together. Yes, I frequently mess up but she doesn't bear a grudge and we move on. I love that big horse for what she's bought to my life

Murphy is right for me - he is a perfect gentleman to handle and bomb proof to ride. He is giving me back my confidence and enjoyment of riding. He has a fabulous canter which I hope we will be experiencing more as the weather improves and we get braver. He has his own special pace, walkietrot, when he just walks quicker in front and trots behind. I'm sure he's thinking, I can't really be bothered to trot, she'll never notice if I do this!

My girl is right for me because: She is my soulmate, she talks to me, listens and teaches me. She is very sensitive and i am aware of my body language when i am around her, she is helping me relax, and sit out spooks with ease, i`m not scared anymore. She hugs me back ... its the best feeling in the world when i hear her whicker to me, she knows she`s loved

Thats a hard one for me, if im honest id say Dan isnt the right horse for me, hence why I spent so long trying to find a nice home for him.
But in spite of everything its always feels right when im with Dan which is why I still have him. I'm at home with Dan. Cant do the stuff I want to but it just doesnt matter any more. I really cant describe it very well but dont think i'll ever have it with another horse. I love Jack to bits and if I can get him in work he may just do the things dan and I cant but there will never be that thing dan and I have.

Dan is perfect for me because he has his issues but (more often than not) he is fighting against them to be brilliant!
Seeing is perfect for me because no matter how badly I think I mess up, she never ever gives up on me - for someone with issues the way I have, that is really quite something.
I love them both to bits, and wouldn't change either of them for all the perfectly behaved horses in the world!

Zareen Shkar TBxArabian 13yo gelding....I like my horse cos he's a thoughtful horse, with attitude....so I have to be a thinking rider; always pay attention to this animal. A huge upside characteristic is that when there is serious hard physical stuff in our way...like hillwork...he's always up for it.

I opened this thread not knowing that I had posted a pic of me riding my old mare Poppy in 2009. I, very sadly, lost her to colic in 2010. Then who should come into my life but his lordship Arizona. I never knew I could have a bond with a horse like I have with him. Arizona is amazing - I am incredibly lucky that he found me.
