Sorry mods if this should be in the For Loan section, but it is a bit urgent. 21 going on 12, Dancer is a TB ex race horse whose owner died, and the family can't keep him. He had a couple of years of retirement due to his owners health problems, not his own, and had always been really easy and quiet, more of a family pet than anything else. We found him a loan home, loaner was adamant he was the horse for her, but when he had been brought back into work by a professional for a week, it seems he is too forward going. He sounds great, a real fun ride - safe but forward going, typical TB really, and perfectly mannered. He is in Worcester, at livery courtesy of the loaner but can't stay there, she has her eye on another horse. I'd love to place him without him coming in to the sanctuary, too many moves can be unsettling, although as an ex racer he copes well with change. Does anyone know of a lovely home where his needs can be met and he can give someone some fun? Or even a foster home where he can be brought back into work slowly? Usual loan terms of course, with a homecheck. I have asked if they have a photograph, if I get one I'll post it.

Jill,
Do you have any other details, height, can he live in or out (I know he is a TB but thought I'd ask), barefoot or shod?
Thanks.

Just over 16hh, chestnut, he used to live out with a rug and a field shelter he made good use of, at the moment he is stabled because the loaner wanted to give him lots of TLC, but his owners son reckons he has spent most of his life out. Couldn't tell you about shoes - as he has been out of work for a couple of years I'd hazard a guess he hasn't worn any for a while.

Looking hopeful - someone who has owned older TBs in the past is making arrangements to go and see him and have a short hack on him. Subject to a homecheck it is all looking positive, there are nice homes out there. AND a former rider who used to love him to bits years ago saw the ad for him and has got in touch, she would love to keep updated and get in touch with his loaner. Russet is set to go to a lovely family of pony owners, they can't wait a week for the homecheck, they want me to go tomorrow, someone else is DESPERATE to come and meet Sophie next weekend and Harry fan club is going to be here first thing tomorrow to meet him in the flesh. If it works out there are four horses who will have nice loving futures ahead of them - that's what makes it all worth while.

Russett went this morning - I quite forgot she was a Parelli pony until she wouldn't load in the normal way. As soon as I got to the side of her, in she went! She is going to be so spoiled, which is fab for an old girl like her.
