Having spent the last few years worrying about your cushings disease and liver dysfunction, the last thing I expected was to find you standing in your stable yesterday morning with a broken leg.
At 37 years old I knew our time left together would be limited, but you have been doing so well - trotting over for your food without the slightest sign of stiffness, and still getting one over on us whenever you could! I still don't understand how it happened.
I spent virtually my entire childhood with you, and as I went on to teach other children you came with me and taught them a few lessons too!
We did so much together, and you never failed to impress people with your "game on" approach to all activities from being in the Prince Phillip Cup mounted games team together to cross country and show jumping even though you only had one eye.
You are a star. Although I thought I was prepared for you to not be here for ever it is very hard...we've been together for over 24 years and it's so strange not to hear you call for your breakfast and supper.
I really hope there is a better place that you've gone too - and that one day we will meet up again.
