does anyone know of a good website with illustrations of horses teeth and the ageing process.
The reason being our horse was sold to use with a passport that says 14. but the person we purchased her from said when she had thee dentist out her teeth suggested she was more like 18 so i would like to investigate further.

It is very hard to age a horse by its teeth once it is older than 10. There was a study done a few years ago where 20 vets were asked to age a group of race horses. The racehorses were obviously all papered TBs so their birth dates were known. None of the vets got the ages of all the horses correct or even close. There was very little consistency between the vets and most were at least 5 years out on a significant number of the horses that were over 10. They were pretty good on the younger horses.
