I'm now back from uni for christmas and it has become clear that the current situation of the horses isn't going to work long term I have at home Rosie, my coloured riding horse and her yearling welsh A companion. I havn't been able to ride in almost 4 months because of my knee and it's going to be another 2 months minimum before i can even think about light riding again. The horses both live out 24/7 but even still, my parents are fed up of looking after them and i can't afford to pay someone to look after them. just feeding/having feet done/vaccs etc are a strain on my student loan! It's starting to look like i'll have to sell Maisy (welsh yealing) and put Rosie on loan (could never sell her) which is heartbreaking. I don't know where to start looking for a loan owner, as i'd want them to be IH and keep rosie barefoot. nobody i know is looking for a horse right now and i don't know anyone who would even just come and ride her for nothing. There is a riding school nearby but i really don't like their pull/kick methods and would never want her on working livery there. she has hardly been ridden by anyone but me so i'm not even sure how she'd accept a new rider. arghh, don't know what to do

What about a sharer? They could help your parents out, then she will be there when you get back from uni

So sorry to hear this Colourfulpony, it must be a heartbreaking decision but I can understand how difficult it is for your parents too. Hope you find a good solution & hope your knee heals quickly.
