I would always turn out horses in the frost but would make sure there is hay out there like the rest of you. Never had any problems with this. After all, horses would encounter frost in the wild!

I have a lami pony, because of this on advice of my vet I turn out onto mild frost with hay or keep in if its a heavy frost if I can't top up her hay, it does neither of mine harm either way but would not keep them in four days on the trot

Well i have got 2 living out and i put haylage out at night for them.
And the rest well, its either get turned out at 5:30am everyday, ignore the big pile of haylage that is put out or stay in everyday of every week as i have to be at work for 8am so i'd never be able to see a defrosted field! If it's rock solid 3 of them will stay in but the 2 section a's ive recently aquired will go out everyday without fail.
I have always had to turn out at stupidly early times, i don't have the luxury of someone else turning out for me, well apart from Aimee, my mum turns her out later in the morning, she just can't cope with long periods of turnout, nor can i do flexi time with my job!
When i had no job people on my old yard used to pay me to turnout when all the frost had gone lol!
