One step foward two steps back!
We took our pony for a walk on saturday down a nice soft muddy lane (as barefoot) for a slow stroll and back (not even 10 mins), and the next day his lame on his foreleg!!!! I checked all over and no heat or swelling in any joints, he suffers from arthritis in his hing hock and fetlock but was sound on his hind! I cleaned the (affected leg) hoof and found nothing! Im now thinking he has a slight stone bruise? But he was only lame for a day and now he is sound (if a lil footy). The farrier is due soon, should i let him trim? What could of caused the sudden lameness?
Any advice/tips would be super!
Thanks in advance.

i would say that when the farrier comes get him to have a look and see what he thinks, explain what happens and see what he also suggests. things dont always present themselves as they seem, sounds like is probably just a bruise from sharp stone or something like that, but prob best just to get some one who is working with hooves all day long just to give a check over and his opinion
