The judge agreed today that the video footage and photos should be released on public view. ***WARNING*** this video is awful and am currently crying. I am still so shocked by the whole thing and gutted it went on for so long. RIP beautiful horses. www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/ it's on the homepage.

its the stuff of nightmares ........ there is NO excuse . Not poverty, not ignorance .... its just pure greed and the blantant disregard for the pain and suffering of sentient creatures. One can kinda understand hoarders or peole who in all good intentions take on animals then "drown" in the financial responsibility and practical care .............. but this a whole family who appear to have ignored the suffering and death all around them in a business setting. Even if he had run out of money he could have easily sold the horses on rather than let them starve. A shorter period of suffering before meeting a swifter death would have been far preferable for those poor creatures I rarely speak out against something before case proven and mitigating circumstances unexplained.... but this time I cannot think of anything mitigating and the video is damming

I cant believe that they bothered to put rugs on them! It beggars belief that they kept on buying more.

Its shocking, they must have been loonies.
Not sure about this part of the new report though
"Men are alleged to have been crammed into pens which were ankle deep in their own faeces. "

I cant take it in.. nothing on earth can ever be an acceptable excuse to have allowed this to happen and for that terrible family to have lived there knowing they were causing and allowing it to happen.. and then have the audacity to want their animals returned.. those bodies had been dead for months and months if no years.. and still they got more horses.. and even left them to die and bring more in.. words are useless at this time.
May he and all of his family rot in hell as far as I am concerned.. they all of them should never be allowed anything with a heartbeat.. ever ever in their life time.. and I hope the prisoners who share their jail see the video as well... as they will also make their life not worth living..
Sickening.,. simply sickening

I hate to say it but to me this site is not actually that uncommon.... or maybe it's just that i have been mixing in the wrong circles.. being frankly on the poor side!! but still i think thats no excuse to neglect your animals.. In fact if you can't afford to look after them at a basic minimal standard don't have them.. help someone else, or share.. it's just not fair to them, sick though it makes me feel, the difference i think in this case is the amount of equines and animals in one place that built up and were suffering and the evidence that was able to have been collected. It frustrates me more the amount of 'evidence' that has been needed ie.. dead bodies and suffering.. to actually convict these people.... and if they had been able to act without it.. on the first few calls.. they really could have prevented many of these deaths and the suffering of these equines!!!! I can think of a case close to my heart now where horses appear to be dying through neglect... however because the bodies are disposed of.... reasonably promptly... within a few weeks and the evidence is gone.. nothing can be done about it... so the monitoring and complaints go on and the horses left live lives of near starvation and constant hardship, injury and suffering until the next one ails.......
Now that is tragic...... the whole system stinks!!!

Trading is going on as usualas Spindles farm.
I wonder if the horse care has improved seeing as they are spending less time on site and employ no helpers.
