I am a volunteer with Doris Banham Dog Rescue (http://www.dogsos.co.uk)
The Doris Banham Rescue has rescued 3000 dogs off death row in pounds this year. The number of dogs needing rescuing has increased and is getting worse.
We now have 100 dogs in boarding and are struggling to stay afloat. (It is so bad that we don't even have the money for next month's boarding.) If we cannot, our charity will have to fold. That will be bad news for the dogs we have saved and even worse for the constant flow of dogs on to death row in pounds. If we can't stay afloat as a charity, we will not be able to save them. The deaths this will lead to are likely to be in the thousands.
So I am trying to think of ways to raise money and encourage donations - and fast. If anyone can make a donation, that would be very helpful. I write here though to ask if anyone would be prepared to do a street collection, a collection at a supermarket or pet store, or do a car boot sale or other fund raising event for us.
If there were a fleet of us raising funds, it would make a massive difference and enable the work to continue.
Please help if you can.
