pip, what do you think of crossing morgans with other breeds?

Well I'm not a breeder. It seems a shame when there are only about 600 pure bred ones in the UK, but there have been some good crosses with Morgan stallions on different mares. The only thing is to look at the individual as sadly there is no stallion inspection programme for Morgans, so basically anyone with a stallion can stand it at stud, and sometimes the conformation isn't all that great. It also depends on what you want to do with the horse, and the record of the offspring of that particular stallion.
I know of a 3 year old gelding for sale, purebred, broken to drive around 15.00 for £3,000. I thought that was good, although I haven't looked at him closely. I was tempted ..................
