i have been very lucky and got 150 pounds worth of IH vouchers for xmas ;D is it better to do the psychology weekend etc first then the 5 day foundation? or the other way round? or doesnt it really matter? im very lucky that the places are only 30 miles (weekend) and 60 miles (all the others) from me ;D toni x

I don't think it really matters and course availability may be the only limiting factor.

arabheaven, why not e mail the office and see if they think there should be an order or whether you can do them in any order ? i know when we helped on the 5 day a lot of the pupils then booked for the weekend one, dont know if that was just because it was the way they fell or whether it was the best way to do them! eileen xx

Congratulations arabheaven, what an excellent present.
If you understand a bit about Kelly's methods: if you've read Perfect Manners or been to a demo, it shouldn't matter which you do first. If you want to understand the Horse Psychology better in the context of the experience of handling the horses and discussing case studies, then doing it after the Foundation Course probably enables you to get more out of the Horse Psychology.
Which ever way round you do them, you'll definitely find that life for you and your horses is never quite the same again - thank goodness.

If you can do JU already, and are used to handling horses & groundwork, I"d recommend the psychology weekend.

I think most people leave Psychology till last, but I don't know if that's by design or just availability. I ended up doing Psychology first and it didn't seem to matter. Each course is "stand alone" and not dependent on what you've learned on a previous course.
Oh I wish I could do them all again :-) ..............

Hi Arabheaven I'm looking forward to meeting you. The order you take the courses really doesn't matter. Availability is the thing really - I just do the HP in the winter and there's just this weekend and next and then we don't start again until November 07. I think technically speaking we're full but give the office a ring and Brenda will see if anyone has done a last minute cancellation or something. All the best Kelly

thanks everyone think i will check availability and maybe do some serious saving to do the 5 day over summer then the weekend next winter i understand most of the concepts used but have never tried join up as i dont think you should attempt it unless you know exactly what you are doing which is why i'd like to wait till i have some expert supervision im very confident in handling my horses zac my homebred i have owned since birth and i ride point to point racehorses in the winter i am doing psychology at uni so have a basic grasp of behaviourism, positive reinforcement etc as a whole oooh so excited! cant wait to meet you next year kelly!! toni xx ;D

It doesn't matter which way round really - the Psychology weekend will blow your mind! I learnt so much! I'd love to do it again so that I can remind myself of some of the stuff I learnt!
The feeding and nutrition weekend blew my mind too it was fantastic!
You'll have a fantastic time that's for sure!
