Can anyone tell me what sort of fit Rhino rugs are? I've seen a 5'9 wug on ebay going really cheap but not sure if they come up big, small etc. My ned has a narrow shoulder and high wither? She has just about trashed her present rug so really need a new one! Also, do they rub the mane? Even on a Wug?
Also, any tips on bidding on ebay as never bought second hand before etc? I could get very addicted.............lol! ;D

I have a 5ft6 Rhino L/W for my cobby mare, she has quite big shoulders although very narrow across the front and the Rhino is a nice fit on her. I have a RAMBO Wug in a 5ft6 and it is tight on the shoulders and the high neck does interfere with her mane a bit. I think you'll be fine with a Rhino. As for tips for bidding, don't bid untill the last 5 mins, otherwise you'll push the price up, also put in strange amounts like £12.61, and keep refreshing the screen, also even if I am winning I out in a higher bid in the closing seconds just in case someone is waiting to bid at the last min. Good luck

LOL- thanks for that! It has 3 days left so will have to resist the temptation to bid for a while yet then! Any idea on how much they are to buy new so I can set myself a limit? This one states it needs washing and has a few tiny holes.

Pierre has a rhino and it's a really good rug, doesn't rub him, and is a brilliant fit. Echo above comments, it was £80 new.

Kirstie...I have rhino pony rugs for my 11.1, they were the only ones small enough on the neck and deep enough in the body for him!
I have got four wildly different shaped neds and rhino fits them all, especially good fit on the neck. I do tend to buy a bigger size though.

the outer fabric on a rhino isnt as tough as a rambo or an amigo and you can buy a brand new Amigo med wt turnout for around £45. I use Rambo and Amigo. this year i've changed the rhinos for Amigos I think they are much better. So if the Rhino has no significant rips or tears and its really cheap then go for it but otherwise i wouldnt bother.

The Amigos don't have as good a fabic weave as the Rhinos, the Amigos have the shortest life expectancy. I had a very long discussion with the staff at the local saddlery about this earlier on in the year.

i think you'll find different if you look on the Horsewear Ireland web site. its the Rhinos which rip'tear easier. I should know I have several of each.

well I would say definately go for it - I'd consider going a bit more than £20 though, I have rhino's for my tb mare and they are fab - one is sooooo patched it's unbelievable but it's still going very very strong!!!!
If my old boy didn't already have a large assortment of turnouts I'd definately consider bidding on the rug myself!!!!

wow, thats interesting about the amigo being tougher, the only horsewear rug either of mine have ripped is an amigo, i have all three types. Prices don't seem to he going very high for rambos etc at the moment. i just sold a 6ft 3 brand new medium weight rambo for £60 and a rambo heavyweight like new for £55 ish i was a bit put out. but thats the chance you take. I would go for it and keep checking what others of the same type are making, i have also had the mane rubbing going on with the neck bits on horsewear rugs
