If you saw my other recent thread, after our little jaunt on xmas day morning, me and Nikki went out for her first proper hack on roads today. Previously she has only been along one stretch of the main road, between two bridle paths (she's a newish rider, but the horse is reliable). It's not half doing my confidence an absolute world of good, as I am the experienced one of the two of us, but "looking after" Nikki stops me from even thinking about being worried for myself ;D It's crazy really, how much good this is doing for me ;D My gosh, I am so bossy with any traffic that isn't going slow enough or giving us enough room (but always politely, of course) as I don't want anything to put her off. Anyway we were out for nearly 2 hours (yep, nearly 2 hours) not hitting a bridle path until on our way home. Horses were great, we saw the odd bus and lorry and plenty of cars. We are not far off going to pastures new, where we can get on other bridle paths, having travelled along the roads first. Hooray!!!!!! Hope you all had a nice ride today too. Happy new year!!!!!

Well done Wozzer. I too rode on the roads the other day as Blue is being a nightmare at the moment. By the time he'd seen his tenth bus he finally didn't bother reacting. I'm going to try and get out today if the wind drops a little as it's doing us the world of good.
