Well new year is fast approaching, we all do what we can for our horses whether it be food or shoes or turn out. But thought we should take a minute and think about our health and what we would benefit from. I have decided to forget new years rituals and start now. I have been to the stop smoking clinic today and have an appointment at the doctors in the morning for the new so called miracle drug champ ix. Apparently our Neddie's will be safe as we will not get fat either. I am gonna get organized healthy and fit and start as i mean to go on. Do any of you feel like joining me.

Thats what i was thinkin, we can chat about our neddies but also support each other through those really hard moments. Are you goin to use patches or tablet. This new tablet is supposed to be fantastic and the maximum weight people have put on is about two pound which in my book is fab. We could even have a weigh in. And prizes what do you think

I went cold turkey on the 20th July this year and so far have not had a single cig since. I must say I do still sometimes fancy one.

Oh dear! I gave up once for 4 years! Then went and bought another bloomin' horse andhave been puffing away eversince! What is the name of the new miracle drug? I work for the NHS and havent heard of anything new! I must be honest I am totally vain and smoke to keep my weight off. Being the wrong side of 50 it becomes increasingly difficult to keep off the weight - even with mucking out 2 and riding 1 and I admit it I am always watching all the shows on TV on how to look good! I am turning into one high-maintenance geriatric galloping woman what with hair colouring, fake tans and am even considering collegen fillers for the wrinkles!! Everytime I have packed it up (twice!!) despite sticking to a really healthy diet (ie no chocolates, no carbohydrates etc etc) have still managed to pile on at least 14lb!! EEEEK Gem cant or wont carry me then! So whats the new miracle tablet called?!!!!

I got an Allan Carr book and stopped with no problem, after 40 years - get them on Amazon, not expensive. (Sorry, I lent mine to someone and you know what happens to books you lend) I'm so glad I quit - everyone says I look loads better/younger/healthier - my hair is more manageable, my gums aren't sensitive and receding any more - oh, and I've got money in my pocket. And I don't have to be one of those social outcasts standing around in the weather "enjoying" a fag. I did put a bit of weight on, but got rid by joining a gym, making me more supple anyway. My face was dry and grey and there were huge bags under my eyes - I'd rather put on a bit of weight than look like that again. Go for it, in a couple of months time you will be out the other side and so much better off. I never thought I would be this evangelical about it, but I can't think of any disadvantage to quitting. I thought I enjoyed them, when I looked objectively (part of the programme) I realised they tasted foul and made me feel like a bag of sh*t, and I was paying for that!!!
