Me and mum have an anglo-arab gelding he is rising 4 in april, he is about 15.1 at present and is of reasonable build I am 14, about 5ft3 or 4 and about 9 or 10stone. Do you think he should be big enough for me as I would want to be able to showjump/event him eventually. Honest opinions wanted please ;D

I think you should be ok....I'm the same height as you and 8st9 to 9st and I'd feel comfortable riding him. I ride YO's 15hh arab and look fine on her and do lots of jumping (only up to 2ft at present as she's building her confidence) and hacking.....you should be fine

He's lovely! Flynn is 15.2 so only an inch bigger - I'm 5ft7 and a lot heavier and he fits me fine - happy to jump him as well:-)

You'll be fine.
I noticed the crack on his back foot, and would be very worried. My lad has appalling feet, which weren't helped by bad farriery, but that is as a result of shoes. I Would want to know why he has feet like that so young? THey may not stand up to high levels of eventing

Absolutely fine, lots of Anglo-Arabs are ridden by men too, he'll probably pop on an inch more as they are often slow to mature and fill out too. Hes georgeous whats his name and breeding?
How did he get that crack?

He is lovely but although he is big enough for you now if you seriously want to event later he might not be big enough for that. You will be nearly 2 years older before you can event him and it depends if your ambition outgrows him. You might be better getting something that will finish closer to 16hh as that way all your work will be for you and not for someone else

The crack has been seen by our farrier and he said (if I remember correctly) that if we gradually try to get rid of it and maybe next year have him shod and it should hopefully cause no later problems?

Shoeing will only mask the crack megnum - get a proper barefoot person to see to him and get it fixed now. Shame to shoe if he is OK otherwise. He is a lovely looking horse though - I love steel greys!

hes absolutly lovely and i dont normally go for anglos at all!!!
i dont think he will have any problems with you at all but as said above at his hieght he will be limited as to how far his eventing will go. my friend used to event a 15'2hh TB and she looked tiny in the warm up ring!!! saying that she did novice afiliated events on him and he did well!
