they were very good when our mare was in for keyhole surgery and then for AI i'm sure Ryan will be fine - our mare was very relaxed just like she was at home

Ryan has a few slight issues...non that are huge but he is anxious about people especially people he doesnt know, hes quite head shy and he has been known to kick out if he feels treatened. hes getting a lot better and hes not nasty with it i do honestly feel it i just because he is scared of people im just terrified im gonna send him off somewhere and he will come back a nervous wreck or hurt some1!

They are my vets, but only had one call out so far. Very pleasant, and the vet didn't winge at all when I asked her to trim the Freisian's chestnuts, even though she had come to see the stallion.....

Sophie, explain your concerns when you get there and I'm sure they'll take those extra few minutes to make sure Ryan's comfortable with them. When does he go?

My mare was referred there & I was very worried about her going somewhere I knew nothing about. But they were very professional and she was laid back when I went to fetch her.
One thing though, according to them, Maisie was permanently unrideable & should have been on Bute and out in the field for the rest of her life. I was devastated. However the x-rays they provided for my own vets were very helpful, and I was told to seek alternative treatments to keep her sound & in work, which I did. So listen to everything and take note of the facts. The opinions may not be quite as helpful - but I guess it depends which vet sees your horses.

While he's there you can relinquish the worry. They know what they are doing and it may finally end the mystery of what's up with him and what his future is. All the very best Sophie. X.

Like RJ would agree that sometimes the smaller practices can't find out a lot!
Maybe ask for a referal to Rossdales or AHT at newmarket? At these places you will be allowed to stay for the entire time of the examination and treatment where as at fellowes they get rid of you as soon as you have delivered your horse

i had the option of going straight to newmarket but i decided i wud rather him go somewhere small and closer tohome as he does have a tendancy to blow his mindat things and also i dont have my own transport for him and i would want to visit him daily also so i decided that i would soner give fellowes farm a go and then go to newmarket if nessecary.
