my best friend keeps her horse at the same yard and we have had two years of horse fun but a couple of months ago i outgrew my 14.2hh pony and i was absolutly distrought. i still cry my heart out often and always question wether i did the right thing. but when i needed my best friend the most she didnt seem to care or give me any encouragment and she started to drift off me when she realised she had a horse and i didnt. it seems as though i dont fill her criteria of a best friend because i dont have a horse. we still talk but because i dont ride much i hardly see her. i do have other horses but they arent ridden. somebody else also comes down the yard to ride the other liveries horse now and again and she seems to have become big buddies with her. what i cant understand is that they talk about eachother behind their backs and a very close friend has come into this bitching and its getting out of control. everybody is starting to show their true colours and are being so two-faced! its much more complicated than that but those are the basics. im very upset that i have lost my best friend and that because i dont have a horse im not 'good enough.' im getting another horse on loan after a few weeks and he is coming down to our yard and im thrilled! my mum keeps saying to me to bide my time because their horses are old and there will be a time when they dont have horses and i do. im getting rather upset and i just dont know what to do?

turbotoby (((HUGS))). This person doesnt sound like much of a friend i'm afraid. Yard politics and people sniping are always difficult things. The best thing to do is not get involved, easy to say, not easy to do! Is there a Pony Club or Riding Club you could join to meet new people?I really think breaking away from this person /people would be the best thing to do. Take Care xxxx

Turbotoby - if a person is making you feel this way, they are not a friend! She does not deserve to have you as a friend. Keep your chin up.xxx
