Yes I saw it, definitely not for the squeamish eh?
But then they have been living like that for generations so you have to respect it, but they certainly done well and the SJ Gemma came out tops, something about horse peeps we're not afraid of hard work and can follow instruction unlike the barrister on the programme, she really irritated me.

I watched it, the stallion being castrated was really hard to watch and I could understand why Nicolla just couldn't be party to it, however I guess it would have happened exactly like that whether they'd been there or not so for the sake of how the cowboys viewed them Gemma who helped with it went up in their estimation I guess.
I have to say although it looked really hard work it did look really exciting too and I was watching thinking I wonder if I could do that. I would have had a damn good try! I was willing them to bring the herd home safely and that bloomin barrister really annoyed me too with her constant excuses, she wasn't quick enough end of!

I watched it and really enjoyed it. Agree about the barrister she was just not enthusiastic and kept making excuses up. It was damned hard work but I can quite see how the other two enjoyed it. Made me cringe watching the stallion being castrated but thats the way they do things. I think that the cowboys had great respect for the SJ and the the woman who earned 200k a year.

Yes watched it too. Had no idea it was going to be on so got a surprise.
Yes Gemma was a real star, wasn't she? Bless her, started out with her curling tongs or straightener thingys, but that didn't last long thank goodness! And she was a far better leader than she expected to be.
The other 2 started off putting my hackles up, but Nick knuckled down and even tho obviously disappointed at not being given the leaders job, supported Gemma.
Jeez though, would you want to be represented by that 'Barrister'? Someone who is not able to see or admit to their own faults does not inspire confidence in me!

I saw the preview which included the bit when the stallion was castrated - it was barbarous and made me feel quite sick, especially when he squealed. I simply couldn't watch it. Roping the horses was so much like the pics in Monty's book, relating to his childhood. Not nice. I would have been pretty useless.

I was glued to it too. I thought that the girls were incredibly brave on the river crossing when they were driving the cattle on their own, especially when Gemma said that she ended up in the middle of all the cows on her horse, completely out of their depth and in strong currents.
I thought the barrister was far too defensive when given constructive criticism, and was obviously not used to failing!

I watched it, it was great. The barrister was annoying though, trying to make excuses up all the time. Saying that, she couldn't talk her way out of a paper bag!! ;D

I so enjoyed it all through. I admired all of them, even the iccky barrister for at least seeing it through. I did expect barrister laura to give it up.. Like all others she did not inspre confidence so full of her own importance and someone not willing to see or understand her own weakness was making it so hard on the others who had to make up her shortfall. Even having to work even harded because she could not keep up. She didnt see how the others worked harder.. that made me very annoyed.
To have those hours in the saddle was hard in itself, let alone riding at the pace they had to and be so alert all the time. Amazing and to cross that river really did test them to the extreme.
Amazing ladies.. especially Gemma and Nick.. who both shone in their own ways.
I didnt cringe at the stallion being castrated, sorry folks..I just accepted it was their way in their world. That is something we have to do when they allowed us into it. Not right to be critical.. Nature itself is not nice often..either.
I also felt impressed when Gemma acknowledged how the horses were so tired as they had to work even harder because of Laura's failings. That was selfish of Laura as well. Not only did the girls and raunch hands have to make up for her so did the horses.
If I ever need a barrister she wont be on my list of one to choose either rj!
Next week I think it is Lumberjacks!

Oh also I felt it was amazing the TV producers got the ranch to even agree to have them there and give up precious time to train them.. even if they agreed they did well but still should be at the kitchen sink or smelling nice!

i watched it. i want a go!
the barrister was annoying. maybe she was trying her best and it was hard work but then maybe it wasnt enough? the others werent letting cows escape left right and centre so she was obviously doing something wrong. it'd have been much easier to watch had she said - look, i'm trying really hard and doing my best and thats all i can do. and i am sorry if its not quite good enough but i'm less experienced than you guys etc. they'd have respected her more. than her just trying to deny any of it was her fault!
Nicola annoyed me at times too. referring to her position all the time and her money and house husband. and saying about Gemma not being a natural leader etc. i'm not a natural leader when it comes to business. but then put me in a horse environment i'd be different. she had her own yard so must be able to manage somehow! just because you are successful in business doesnt put you the best at everything. But at least she relented and accepted it. although she had little choice.
i didnt like the castrating. the horse looked horrified and it looked mighty painful to me. and the way they killed the cow - that seemed a bit harsh? just pooring the blood out so it bled to death!? dont think i'd be good at that.
