I'm organising an evening with equine vet, David Urch on the benefits of using Aloe Vera in horses. It would be great if any of you could make it. I'd love to see you all there. Aloe Vera in Equine Practice On: Tuesday 17th June Time: 7.15 for 7.30 start At: Lympsham Manor Livery With our special guest speaker David Urch BSc Ma vetMB MRCVS David is well known locally as an equine vet but you may not know that he is probably the leading expert on Aloe Vera in Equine practice and the author of Natures Gift. This talk will be completely devoted to horses although Aloe Vera is equally effective in other animals and of course humans. See how this wonderful product has been used to successfully treat SKIN DISEASES - WOUNDS - MUD FEVER - LAMINITIS - SWEET ITCH - COPD - ARTHRITIS/JOINT PROBLEMS - DIGESTIVE/GASTRIC ULCERS This is a rare chance for you to hear such an informed speaker and be able to ask David questions about your own horse in an informal atmosphere. Please rest assured that this is an information evening - no obligation to buy - just come along and learn what may help you or your friends now or in the future. If you have rushed from the stables there will be refreshments available. Please pm me for more details or to reserve your place.

David is indeed excellent and someone I haven't seen for a good few years, I'll check my diary and get back to you, I'd love to come. My first horse is one of the "scary pictures" in his book.

Good grief pd! There's lots of pretty gruesome pictures in Davids book. Which one is your horse?

I know David from many years back when he used to be our equine vet and he had his practice in Wrington, for such a small man, he handled horses beautifully, he was the only vet that our Arab mare trusted to do her teeth (before we discovered EDT's).

Good grief pd! There's lots of pretty gruesome pictures in Davids book. Which one is your horse? Gosh I don't know what page, but it is a very dark bay with the most horrendous case of lymphangitis I've ever seen, the hind legs burst apart all round, ulcerated and weeping all over from hock to coronet band. Aloe vera (and David) were her only hope and it did an amazing job on them. I wish the after pictures were in the book as well..you'd never believe it. She was never lame on those legs afterwards, they just looked weird, but I got some pretty natty boots for her and we had no problems.

That's fantastic PD. It really is amazing to see how successful aloe vera can be in treating horses and also how it can accelerate the healing process. Lovely to hear that your mare has made a good recovery.
Look forward to seeing you and the photos!
