Looking fabulous, no wonder you did so well. Would you mind me giving you a few little (and they are little) pointers for next time?

They're just a few inexpensive things that'll improve the overall picture.
- Use some brown/black plaiting thread to tie on your number, and make sure it's flat to your back and central before you go in the ring - put a black/brown plaiting band on your hat harness and thread the spare bit of strap through it, so it doesn't hang down below your chin - take your spare stirrup leather out of the keeper on the saddle, as it spoils the line of the saddle. If you have a pair of shorter leathers, or can shorten the leather on those that would be great, but if not, don't worry. - would your hair go in a bun? They always look smart and professional - can you use 2 reins? If you can, and you have them, it's more correct to use 2 reins on a pelham for showing - do you have a smaller numnah? or would your horse go without a numnah for the class? Your numnah is much bigger than your saddle, particularly infront of the saddle, which spoils your horse's lovely shoulder - are you wearing a stock? Do you have a shirt and tie? Stocks aren't really correct for showing, so if you can get hold of a shirt, and a coloured tie it would improve the picture. - finally, can you bear to trim her little feathers? She'd (she is a she isn't she?) look very smart trimmed up.
I hope that's not too much at once! Good luck at the weekend.

Oooh, well done you! Gally looks lovely. I used to do some veteran classes with my TB, who is retired now. He was a nutter at shows, but once in that ring always behaved impeccably. That is until I took him in in-hand one day, and he pranced about like a nutter and frightened the judge to pieces ... she wouldn't come near him! Needless to say we didn't get placed that day.

Thanks Sara i've come to the theory that i think Gally thought he was in the working in (always behaves in working in just IN the ring he goes a bit cuckoo ( As he was more settled then when i've done a dressage test in a proper arena!
