Hi, sorry i havent posted on here in a while, however an update for you Spirit was unwell yesterday and had to have the vets, Clair at Sarahs was brilliant putting up with me on the phone, he had impacted colic and the vet could not understand why they tubed him with liquid parafin and got the impaction out from the other end, he seemed a bit better when they checked on him a little while after that then this morning he seems out of the woods and is being turned out again with a close eye kept on him. he had me very worried tho bless him.

Oh poor little lad, it's unusual for a 9mth old foal to get colic! I wonder what he's eaten that he shouldn't have. Just a thought, foals should be wormed every 4 weeks until they are yearlings as they are so susceptible to worms . Is he up to date with his wormers?

Hi sorry been meaning to update, he is looking better at the moment has had 2 vet visits so far, they find it strange where the blockage is as its more in the pelvis area from what i know, they took bloods and they came back good he was slightly aneamic. he is on some some medication at the moment, and is looking more comfortable passing droppings ok, they took a dropping sample im calling for the results tommorow, waiting to see what they show as he was due to have a wormer this time last week but waiting to see what the vet says before we worm him again as didnt want to upset his belly anymore. will keep you posted - thank-you

Unfortunatly he has had the vet again today - has been tubed from the front and had an enema, apparantly the gut is functioning correctly the problem is at the back end so will have to see how he goes again now - poor little thing.

glad to hear he was enjoying the snow! has the vet said anything with regards to what he thinks is causing all this? it seems quite strange him being so young dont you think??

Hi , i havent wrote on here for a while but thought i would give you a small update, these last few days there has been a bit going on!
Over the past weeks/months i had been giving Zorelles future a lot of thought, i had decided that it wasnt fair for her to be at a livery yard although she would of been living out etc the set up just wouldnt suit her to much coming and going etc , therefore after a lot of thought and a lot of tears sad and happy i have decided to gift her to Liz P , she is staying in a herd setup with some other french rescues and now has Liz P as a mum , i will be visiting her when i can etc, she arrived there today and from what ive heard she is quite happy! im sad to let her go but she couldnt have a better 2nd mum ever im sure it will be a lovley re-union and will be the best for Zorelle.
Spirit was castrated on Tuesday and was a little start very well behaved for the vet and very chirpy afterwards cantering around in the field only hours afterwards!!
