Zorelle and Spirit update We are now going through the weaning process now they are in opposite fields they can reach over the fence if they want etc, Zorelle is in the the field with her new friend Nickle and Spirit is in the other field now looking small with 4 big thoroughbreds he is again not fazed and just gets on with eating zorelle was looking over at him for a little while whilst i was there then she got on with eating so it all seems to be going well. They both had there feet trimmed this week and it was Zorelles first ever all round trim which went very well, when i was there at weekend Sarah showed me where they were up to with the leg work and whilst i was there she said thats the best she has ever been as in less fuss and held it for longer. here are the pics as you can see Spirit has grown even more he is now 5 months old :0) and just looking at the pics ive thought about headcollars - spirits! he has grown out of his original leather foal slip so then he had a little baby blue foal headcollar which was roomy on his a month or so ago and i said when i was there at weekend i thought he would need a new one next time i go say a pony size one, well i think he has a pony size one on in the pic!! Spirit Zorelle

Grinning, grinning, grinning.... I know there are other things for her to learn, but this for me seems rather like a completion of her basic education. It's taken a year but, oh my word, what a wonderful sight. When Zorelle arrived here last August, we had no idea what we would be able to achieve. She has now learned to be handled and groomed, caught, led, travelled (!!!) and trimmed. It does show how even the most abused and fearful pony can forgive, eventually. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Bless her! As for Young Master Spirit, coincidentally I was watching his baby videos last night. What a change. How big is he now, do you think? Bigger than her (looks like it from the pics)? He's just so good, isn't he? Oh dear, I think I'm having a little proud moment, here....

Ooo go on then Liz, we'll let you have a proud moment! Yes, he is standing taller than Z now. At least 1 inch, possibly 2. When he was lifting her back end off the floor with enthusiastic dives for the milk bar and trying to get in with the other horses at every opportunity, generally being a "gate pest", we knew it was time to do something about it. The back legs have been a very slow process, but I suppose it doesn't matter when you see then end result. She's not easy!

Hi Lulu (and anyone else interested)
Here is a pic of Z taken today, and if you really look carefully you can see Spirit in the background. They are just on grass livery, so I go to see them in the field, not much else to report. Z has finally got her figure back. Her best mate is Nickle in pic. Spirit is out with a TB filly yearling, Summer.

LOL imao ;D i suppose it can get a little confusing zorelle was a mare (in foal) that came from a meat farm in france. she was rescued by debutante and lizp was her foster mum in essex and got her through some very tough months. zorelle with her foal spirit moved to sarah dents in the summer and i'm sure debutante will be hoping to get them home soon does that all make sense now? oh and erm i had to look twice at the pic of spirit he resembles nothing of the the little shy foal i met!!! LOL
