Hi there, just a slightly odd question, i have read somewhere that a few people have had a really nice guy called Robert bringing their rescues over, he is bringing my girl over this week ( yay!! gulp!! nervously chewing fingernails!!) I just wanted to know what size lorry he has as trying to work out how/where he can turn it around! Thanks

I will let you know as soon as she arrives and take loads of piccies so we can do the before and after shots!! Hubby stressing she is going to come down the ramp with a false leg!! No faith!! Or is it that he has seen my previous vets bills!! I have a knack of picking horses with life-long probs!! Lets hope that 3rd time lucky!!

we were living in the dordogne when bailey first arrived with us and W.I.H.T moved him they couldnt even get the lorry up the road!!!!!!! it was huge, and tore all the tarmac off the road trying to come up the hill! when we moved back to uk we used yew tree horse transport and veronica turned up in a lovely little four horse box. i would ask transport what size the lorry is??

Hi Tia. She caught my eye one eve when i was bored and nosing on the internet. i had been looking at the euine urgency web site for a little while just looking at the poor horses on there when she caught my eye. last year shortly after my son was born i had to make the heartbreaking decision to have my beloved welsh cob legend PTS after battling with laminitis, he was only 16. he was completley black withour a mark on him and as a baby before he filled out looked very similier to her. I e mailed the lady about her just to ask how diff it was to bring them over etc and found out it was very easy. All i had to do was make the decision to have her and wait for her to arrive. It was a diff decision because having lost legend last year and not being able to get a vet to see her I had the worry of not knowing if she had any major probs. But Debbie managed to get a contact at the french end to have a quick peer at her and there was nothing obviously the matter so after a couple of BIG glasses of cheap german wine I deciced to go ahead. I am now just waiting for her to arrive, the transporter went over on Sunday so it should be any day now!! She is a French Trotter so its likely that she didn't make the grade as they race them at about 3yrs old and 50 % of the horses bred last year didn't make the grade and as 10,500 were bred last year thats alot of horses many of which enter the food chain. I am going on the hope that she wasn't fast enough and not that she injured herself, but to be honest she is having th enext year off just to be a horse again so any minor injury will have a good rest period. Also she is insured from today anyway so if anything happens when she arrives she will be covered. Found her on another french rescue web site and as far as I can translate it said that she was well handled so fingers crossed. I just want her to arrive so I can start to get to know her and give her some TLC.Will keep you posted, I am hoping to film as much of her arrival and settling in etc as poss to do a short clip to go on my you-tube account so people can see the full story. x

According to the web site she is only 3yrs old so still very much a baby. We are going to change her name to ' Chance ' as la chance is french for luck, which, hopefully, is now on her side. Her name at the moment is rachael de naulne but I just feel new life, new beginnings, new name. x

thanks for telling us alivetnurse, thats great news, I'm sorry to hear about legend, I have 2 french trotters one will be 3 next month, although it has been difficult at times, I really dont regret ever making the decision to have them, they are great and very happy horses, lovely temperaments (aside from the usual baby antics)... they are just a joy to have... cant wait to see pics of yours, what colour is he/she? my two are Rose and Tila incase you wanna have a look at there thread.. xx
