Hi - just thought I'd lets yous know that Rose is "back to normal", we're back on the right track now, so I'm just gonna continue with the little bits of work, small things like asking her to stand while I hose her feet, and maybe a little ground work, but really for now I just want to enjoy grooming and being around her.. shes only a wee baby.. lol....(by the way Sarah she has grown, possible 16.1 now!! must measure and find out..

Hi Melissa, well I havent measured, but she has definitely grown, or had some sort of a spurt... I would say at a guess no less than 16hh, I'll make a point of seeing if anyone has a measuring stick so I can find out, shes still thin but nothing like what she was like.. I'll try find out tonight... oh I keep meaning to ask yous, she has came out in warts. there a little white, theres a couple on her nose, and a bunch of them under her mouth. any suggestions??

Haha! A norty giant horsey then! Re the warts, they should just go,could be worth getting your vet to check them, there is something that young horses get that should be treated but I cant remember what, not having youngsters! With older horses there isnt any point as there isnt anything the vet can do without loads of tests and expense and unless they are causing problems its not worth it.

Thanks Sarah, when the vet is next out I'm gonna ask him to take a look at them, shes looking really well now and getting a shape to her neck, so health-wise she seems to be ok.. we woke to snow this morning, Rose didnt wanna leave her stable at first, but being the trusting little pet she is, she finally decided that if I was standing out in it then it would be ok to walk over..

Excellent news that you've got your Rose back, even if it is the new sized one. Good things don't have to come in small packages, after all!

Hi tia- glad that rose is better. the foals that were about 6/8 months old used to get some sort of warts on their faces at a yard I used to be at. I cant remembet what they were called but they used tb treated with some sort of powder which made them fall off?

Thanks foolonahorse, yeah I googled it yesterday and all sorts came up but basically they should fall off within months, a relative had a horse a year or so ago that came out in warts just like Roses and they just disapeared in there own time, never to be seen again.. Rose is still being good, fingers crossed...
