question re chip paper work for the french horses

does anyone know what info you can find out from the id chip on the paper work for the french horses?

i would love to find a bit of history about my boy...i know it is unlikely, but i would like to try!

the name and address on the form has not been filled in correctly, if it had been i would have written.

also where/how would you find out the owner details etc with the id number?

Hi Melissa,
I'm afraid the chip will only tell you where he was chipped (France/Spain/...)
I will try and get a more specific idea of his history from the local rescuers if they know any more.

thanks lucy - i thought the chip would at least give the name and address of the previous owner? otherwise what would be the point of the chip? or is it not done for the same reason in the uk? i would so love to know about my boy as i am sure eveyone who has a french rescue would!
