They are both Georgeous!! Honey was like the filly, you could easily imagine her saying 'Please just love me!' Good luck x

Quick update - the donkey is now a cuddle monster and can't get enough of them!!! It's 3 days since they arrived so I am very impressed with her - she's a little angel.
The filly is as loveable as ever - I gave her a bath yesterday and she was brilliant apart from water over her backend. She's only 14 months or so and I can't believe she's as good as she is.
One thing though - she has got in to the habit of jumping the electric fence when no-one's looking overnight to eat the more lush grass on the other side. Both yesterday and today in the morning's we have found the donkey looking on forlonly whilst the filly gorges herself!!!
Guess the grass is greener on the other side after all...

Do you know what breeding the filly is? Is she Breton or Comtois?

Will definitely get some more piccies this weekend and post them up - we have various friends and family coming to meet them and lots of jobs to do so will have plenty of photo opps!!! Want to wash the filly again as I am picking up some medicated shampoo as I think she has ring worm (fungus not worm). The donkey was with two stallion donkeys - does anyone think she looks pregnant? Debutante - not sure why she was on the wagon when they arrived, the driver said he thinks the dealer had taken her to get her chipped and then left her on the wagon. They don't know how long she had been there but she was very ill looking so far too long obviously. He guessed that it was at least a day if not 2 ( She's safe now! Looking forward to introducing them to my mare, but as she is pregnant I need to wait until after 2 weeks quarantine in case they have a virus. Happy days xxx

HI Bertie,
She's a comtois - she stands at 14.1 (and a half!) and is around 14-15 months old so according to various sites she should make 15.2 or so... She obviously has a good jump in her and she has the sweetest nature so am looking forward to having fun in a few years time...!!

My friend Jane has two Comtois that she rides and drives!!! Have a look at this link - secure.pixelphotoz.com/customers/WHHC/index.html Click on the 'Marathon' link and scroll down to nearly the bottom of the page. You will see a pair of chestnut blonde bombshells, with the driver and groom wearing blue and white quartered scull cap covers. It's fabulous having more French Heavies in this Country - will have to get you all signed up to the Southern Counties Heavy Horse Association! ;D ETA: Sorry... but don't know what's happening to the link... it doesn't want to link!! You'll need to cut and paste the web address!

WOW Bertie - they are stunning!!! Am really excited about having her and looking forward to lots of fun. She seems massive already compared to my friend's warmblood cross of the same age!!
My other mare I have had for 10 years and is an Irish sports horse (very TB looking), she is in foal to a warmblood with lots of bone as I wanted something a little heavier so I have that on the way too but this little comtois takes it a huge leap further!!
Are there any comtois stallions over here? You never know when she's older it may be nice to breed some French heavies over here...

Not that I am aware of, but the Haras (National Stud) system in France is excellent in it's AI work! Plus... as the brain is just starting to kick in... you have two distinct types of Coms too... a heavy type and a much finer type (which I think she is), so you could choose what type stallion to put her too!
