This morning I went out to visit Gee Gee and her Ardenns stallion William, who arrived last night.
He had a rub on the side of his face from his head collar in the lorry, so to stop it rubbing even more, we slapped a plaster on it - kindly conjured up from the hand bag of Kelly Marks student Joanna
They both did really well, and I dare say Gee Gee will give you a full report later ;D

Awww bless him! Black filly also has a rub on her face but somehow I don't think she'll let me put a plaster on it!

Yes, he is Tia. He has the most beautiful silver mane and tail, and a heart of gold.
Even though he was stressing because a suspected Rigg had been tethered outside only two boxes down, not once did he get so upset with us that he got nasty
But by golly our ear drums were nearly split a few times

hellooo !!! Ok been rather busy today as william had a very big day ;D he had a visit this morning from Zoe and joanna and he did really really well. Learnt the pressure release really quickly and although the yard was really busy (poss rig tied up near him, children on and around the yard, mares nearby) he was coming back to learn more ... we did what we could and he was a superstar. Then ..... The vet came to do the chop not my normal vet but one i have used in the past. took me a fight just to get him out (even tho i booked it last week) once he was out they did the job and that went well. He had a nasty looking fall when he tried to get up too quickly after, but vet assured me he was ok. Once he finaly got up the second time (longest moment in my life) he was still really unsteady and marching around as he found that easier then to stand still so my vet gave me the leadrope and that was it, left! i was left trying to hold a scared and doped horse who was doing his best to behave but was all over the place. he calmed down alot once i got hold of him and stopped trying to make him stand still... But wasn't impressed i was left on my own for about 45 mins while he came round enough to be able to support his own before putting him back in his box. all in all it was a great day, He showed me his willingness to learn and trust, even in a potentialy horrid situation and i can't wait for Zoe to come out again and carry on his learning
