I echo Lorraine's advice and think the name Star seems very appropriate.
Wishing you lots of luck with her. As you say, poor baby, but her new chapter is just beginning. Well done for giving her this special chance in life.
I think you're going to have your hands full! (but rewarded a thousand fold)
Ally

Thanks everyone. Bless her, she is getting better every time I go in the stable with her. I can touch her all over and she isn't flinching so much. Can't persuade her to take a piece of carrot out of my hand though and she has no interest in bucket feed at all.
She has got these awful crab flies that nest under her tail and in her boobies. They are so hideous, anyone know anything about them or how to eradicate them, tried google without success!

Hi Dizzy, My sister has been reading with interest about this mare and suggested that you call her ' Liberty' as in Freedom. Of course, her stable name could then be Libby. I don't know anything about those crab flies. They sound awful.

Hi Dizzy Ours came with the crab flies too,I squidged them every time I found them as they are really slow, and they seem to have disappeared after about 10 days! Ours took ages to eat from a bucket,I eventually tempted them with spillers conditioning nuts, which they will now eat with beet and alfa mixed in so I will gradually cut the nuts out.Hope this helps.Sx

Thanks everyone. I think she just got a name! I love that, Liberty, and Libby suits her so well. I have been trying Star but it somehow wasn't right, I will try Libby today!
Thanks Lisa, I will email Lucy as I haven't a clue what that link says!! LOL. I knew I should learn some French before taking French horses!
