Hi, To save me a lot of time - that I and these horses don't have - going through the threas, could those of you who have a serious interest in any of them and who have not already emailed me (lucy.airs@wanadoo.fr) do so now? I now have more info and am trying to sort out how many we can save. Ideally we want to know today because we have another contact planned with him at 8 pm (7pm UK time), the guy is not very flexible and if meat pays more that's that. The price for them all is €1.86/kilo, this makes it a bit difficult to give a definite price but he is weighing a couple today - that's what the meat man will pay and he's coming next week. Someone from our end tried putting a deposit on a couple, the answer is NO and the meat van, comes early next week so we've no time to waste here. Sorry, I'm in practical/blunt mode but I hope it will give more horses a chance. There are 20 odd. Some you have seen photos of, besides that a grey mare in and with foal, poor condition but not ill seeming gly. The chestnuts seem a bit stockier that the bays. The bays are very pretty (nice head). 1 bay mare with foal (BEAUTIFUL foal) etc etc. Thanks Lucy

Has there not been some confusion about these horses? For example they don't appear anymore on Lisa's equinesection.com "in danger" list - where some were listed before ie they have been taken off, and someone on the other thread here on the 86 list said they thought they had been saved.
I'm not unfortunately in a position to provide a home but Nickya has previously posted she may be interested in the palamino stallion.
Does anyone have pictures of all the horses they need homes for in dept 86, to put all in one place so people don't have to go through different threads? I think it may help if people knew details of all the horses - eg ( stallions etc) heights, breeds and ages as everyone's facilities are different, and at least people would know what horses in 86 were in danger.
I realise that everyone may be too busy - there is life outside the dg, I know, but I think it might help their plight if someone had access to the information and had time to post it.

Yes I noticed the danger list has gone down to 1 page so wasn't sure if the rest had found homes.
Also I have just looked through the french site and there are alot more on there that I have not seen before, I have no idea what any of the french says though so perhaps they have found homes!!
I am still working on my dad as I really want to help but I am doubtful at the moment as it is his funds I am after!! I keep sending him pictures of them so we will see.

Yes there was a confusion, nothing we could help, but we have now had someone see the horses and they need homes within a week. They are beautiful, most of them young, just 2 mares with foals and 1 female donkey (6yrs we think). Can someone get nickya to email me?

Just to Clarify all the Dept 86 are still at great risk,I have been there today and they WILL go next week to the butcher if homes are not found. There is one with an injury to his leg (chestnut horse in with the percheron) it doesnt look nice but isnt life threatening and I fear no one will take him because of that. They are all very sweet calm horses that just deserve a chance.30 have already been bought by the butcher. They will probably end up at the Italian slaughterhouses...the in foal mares for sure. Please if you are interested contact us asap so that we have chance to get the on the right lorry!

Its harder when you look into their eyes and have to walk away I can tell you...i'm probably gonna be squeezing a couple more in at mine if no one wants them...its heartbreaking but we can only do what we are actually capable of doing

The problem is,tag13,that there is no end in sight unless we can do something to change the transport laws .Is there? I dont know how you cope with seeing them all,it would break me I know.
