thats great, melissa! rose and tila werent keen on their stables either, they have improved but they are still not 100% I dont think,I suppose he will get used to it as long as he has company. ( they werent awful or anything, just a bit stressy and box walked, still ate all their hay!)

i would say now that uge is a fully fledged "normal" horse! he now asks for bum scatches by throwing his butt at you! in a nice way though...and if you don't do it he doesn't mind too much! he also tried to share my old boys dinner after he has finished his own.....he has only got as far as licking the air! hehe, i don't think he will ever get a look in with old boy...he loves his food too much! i caught uge and tramp having a good old groom the other day so sweet to see it! they do get on so well. heart warming.

ahhhh that is great news Melissa, he is beautiful, how is he getting on with the stable then? its taking a bit of time with Rose and Tila, they are still not 100% but getting there, I think as the weather gets colder they are starting to realise that its a good thing coming into a warm stable with food and hay..

thanks tia - mmm re the stable, he has been in a few times literally for minutes! gets a little stressed but to be honest there were no other horses in at the time. so maybe when the others are in he will be ok. i hope! lovely to hear about your girls too! you are doing a great job.

First time I have read this thread. You are doing a fantastic job with your boy!! I bet he cant believe his luck. He looked so poor when you got him. Hard to believe it is the same pone.
Pat yourself on the back you have done him proud.
makes you wonder how on earth they end up like that especially with such a good temperament
Keep posting the photos I love them

well as i havent posted on this thread for a while i thought i would write a little about what uge has been upto lately....
as i mentioned before he has arthritis in his legs and they got worse as the weather changed. he is in at night now to help and i have to say he is the dirtiest horse i have ever had to muck out!!!! so much so i am going to get him rubber mats....i have also put him on half a sachet of danilon every day and it has made a real difference.
when i go out and poo pick now all i see are BIG skid marks all over the field!!!! uge has decided to make up for lost time and is having lots of fun running around, bucking leaping etc, much to my oap 39yr olds disgust! lol

well as my old boy is not interested in playing with the youthful uge....he has resorted to winding george up, my very naughty new forest who lives on the other side of the electric fencing!!!!! i always thought it would be george that started this sort of behaviour...i was shocked to see uge initiating it all! they bite each others faces, rear bolt up right at each other, squeal, buck, leap and all sorts!!! so amazing to see uge so happy.
