Eventful Hack this morning!

Hi Guys
Well I've just got home from a hackout this morning - rather eventful as Roche was a little bit put out , I mean come on how dare I ask for a bit of work when theres a field full of grass to eat!! So tacked up, he fidgetted like a right pain but not to be put off I eventually got him done. Got my mounting block he kept walking away so eventually got on and it was like light the touchpaper and run! I must've done about 6 circles before I even got off the yard. So out onto the road with his friend in tow - jogging, spooking, tossing heads what a naughty boy The "what if" monster appeared and I did think of getting off but I DIDNT So rather pleased with that. I didnt go that far, perhaps 1/2 an hour then back to the yard but at least I didnt bail out. I think this has been a positive experience for us both as usually the first sign of trouble and Im like a rat up a drainpipe and jump off but I stuck with it even tho I was bricking it! So Roche has learned too now that he can paddy but he wont be going back until I am ready - a good thing huh? Right off for a bath then retail therapy me thinks x

Well done Dawn. You did well to work through this, and hopefully it has given yourself and Roche a boost to know you can go out there and face the wider world together. I must admit that I don't actually think there is anything wrong with getting off if you need to, so don't ever see that as a failure if you do need to hop off for any reason. Enjoy your bath and the retail therapy - you deserve it!

That was a great educational ride for your boy! Well done. Sounds like he was quite a handful, but confronted by the no-nonsense mum, he can only get better.
