I am having hypnotherapy tomorrow for my fear of tractors and lorries by Derk Clark, he has very kindly offered to come to my stables and work with me and Stafford, although it's me with the problem! But I pass my fear onto Stafford, he doesn't play up with anyone else. I can hear a tractor for miles! I really do hope it works, it really makes a difference to my hacking out, i am in a small lane which is a short cut between two main roads to an industrial estate, once off that road its just tractors to deal with! Fingers crossed will let you know what happens.

Staffsmum, have just read Derek's page on horse riders and it is really good, in fact i came to the conclusion he has suggested just this week, he says to get yourself a good instructor and learn how to deal with the horse rather than wait for it to play up and then fail at doing the right thing, a really brilliant man by the sound of it, please let us know how you get on and if what he says is correct then it should change your way of thinking and maybe even your life! good luck eileen x

I can highly recommend Derk for anyone experiencing any riding problems. What a lovely chap.Words cannot express how happy and excited I feel today. I met Derek at 9.30, and immediatley felt relaxed, he has a very calming personality. We discussed my fears and "discovered" where the problems started. Then he used a technique called NLP. On my left knuckle he anchored the high stress and upset and on my right knuckle he anchored when I am feeling at my post peaceful sat resting in my garden. Then we did a time frame of the past and future and I had to look back at my accident and other problem areas and feel the peace returning and realise that it was past and to look to the future, and we had to use my keyword "bovvered" ;D ;D ;D Obviosley its a bit more complicated than that and I won't of described it exactly, but the peace and calm I felt were wonderful. Then we took Stafford into the school, usually I tense up but I only felt strangley relaxed. I did some schooling then Sue my yard owner, drove her lorry up and down. Yes Stafford did look at it and dance around a bit BUT! it was me having the work done so I did expect it. I felt totally calm, exactly what I asked Derek if he could achieve. It didn't bother me and my nerves stayed at a 2 or a 3 when usually they are on the 10 scale!! I am hacking out on Saturday so I will let you know when I meet a tractor or lorry how I feel, but I am very positive. I want to say a big THANK YOU to Derek and anyone who would like help please contact him www.mindbodymastery.co.ukAlso I haven't felt this calm and relaxed for months

staffsmum, that sounds brilliant, sadly Derek is too far away for me :-( Was it very expensive? The best thing is you sound so positive, i really think half the battle is coping when they play up and you seem to have done that really well. eileen x
