Well, I hacked out again on the roads this morning. Had to start out much later than last week and there was loads more traffic. I went with 3 friends and Poppy was very good but, gosh, she does get strong when we trot. She does that huge, big, welsh cob trot and really powers along. I must admit the more we do it the better I'm getting and I know its only cos shes determined to stay with her mates (I'm waffling now) but oooh my mouth does go a bit dry. Anyway, all in all a good hack where we met cyclists, tractors, dogs, people, JCB (behind a hedge) and loads of traffic. Went past woods and fields of galloping horses and I managed it all. Heres to the next one!!

Brilliant news Sandy, well done - isn't it great when a plan comes together!

well done!! At least Poppy has a goal - to stay with her friends and that will help her not to notice any of the 'scarey' things - but you did pass an awful lot of them! Which is great! yup - here's to the next one

Thanks to everyone for your support. It really helps having this DG and now we've got our own section - its brilliant. I'll ride again most days this week but we only hack out on Sundays due to the busy, busy weekday roads. I'm going to try and go out at 8am next Sunday because just going a couple of hours earlier makes such a huge difference to the volume of traffic and it just makes the hack more relaxing! By the way I love my little horse - shes a star! Looking forward to hearing about everyone elses adventures and achievments. Sandy
