All riding plans have been out of the window recently, because of a recent family bereavement (Thanks to everyone who PM'd me etc, you will never know how much I appreciated it). The funeral was yesterday, and today I needed to spend some time with the neddies. Got Bobby in, faffed around for ages as the yard was busy (yep, another excuse) but when everyone left I tacked him up, got on and off we went. We didn't go far but went past ponies in a field and sheep and their lambs the other side. He looked but did not put a foot wrong, utter utter star that he is. It was only a tiny mini hack, but has set me up well to go further tomorrow. Thank goodness for Bobby and Clover, I love my neddies

Oh well done Casper. I am so pleased for you. Anyway, that wasn't a "mini" hack ... My mini hacks are tack up - turn horse around in circle - sit and chat with him for a while - get off and untack !! lol Keep up the good work, You know you can ! x

And.......HUUUGE well done ;D ;D It takes real guts to do that on your own & you did it with no probs at all. Go out & do the same tomorrow & you'll have the nerves squashed into oblivion Now go & have a glass or two of your chosen tipple me dear, you deserve it!!

Woo hoo Casper, thats brilliant, well done. Really sorry to hear about your bereavement (seems to be a few too many of those at the moment) but a good ride is just what it takes to blow away the cobwebs. I cantered Spencer out on a hack for the first time in ages the other week and he was brilliant. I've still to get him hacking alone though as this has been a major sticking point and is when he usually starts to tantrum.
Seems like a lot of us are starting to get on top of these nerve issues just recently, wonder if its due to the good weather. Well, whatever the reason, lets hope it continues.
Here's to many more happy solo hacks Casper - onwards and upwards. Think we ought to have some lovely pics of you and Bobby (and Clover of course).

Well done casper!! Just brilliant girl:-)
The first time I went out for a hack after Mum died I had a lovely one in memory of her - Flynn seemed to be very understanding about it all. They are the best tonic - don't feel guilty for enjoying things - it's what your uncle would have wanted.

Thanks everyone, I was really chuffed to be honest. Gem, you'll be out there hacking on your own in no time I am sure. And wow, out cantering in company and everything - well done you. I will get some piccies taken - they are long overdue.
Louise C, what a lovely tribute and memory to your mum ((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) to you and Flynn xx
