really fed up aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggghhhhhh. , for some reason alfie was having a right cob on tonight, got very huffy every time i said no to eating cow parsley in hedge. all going pretty well passed two fields of horses brilliantly ;D, but daf was quite snoorty if you know what i mean and when we got to a field of bullocks daf did as he was told but was obviously het up and alfie started doing his girraffe impression , so i got off. he calmed down really quickly and i got on again near the end of the field so we had ridden a bit of the scary stuff, then there were some sheep in the hedge and he went completely rigid again so i got off again and led him passed, then got on again and rode home. dosn't sound so bad now i'm writing it down but i'm really fed up with my self, forgot everything leah told me, held on to him and did not relax.i'm supposed to have a lesson on friday but instead i think i will ask her to walk past the field with me to help me through it, we don't have much grass at the moment so he is a bit frustrated about that, but has plenty of hay, prehaps he is lacking in something apart from a muppet for a rider.i thought i might open the gates tomorrow and ride him through the field and back up to the yard, i can make it into a circuit and build up the field time according to how its going. not worried about ridding him, just pee'd off with my self. thanks] rant over

come on girl - that doesn't sound bad at all........ you got back on each time, you made him do past it - no problems. time for a hack out again - me thinks. any day next week suit you - apart from Monday morning? I will come over again and bring the old chap this time. No mad gallops - as Falco has been bad in his feet, but recovered miraculously with Natural balance shoes and I am now starting to ride him again.
Stop beating yourself up and start rmembering how fab he is. Every horse can have a bad day - falco used to go out with a chicken like walk looking for things to be scared of - red cars....... new gates, bin bags. And he is an old boy! have you tried singing to yourself - something really stupid in time to his foot steps. then you find yourself forgetting what he is being a twit about and starting to try and get his footsteps in time to teh music.

hey honey, how you doing. just so frustrating . daf is so young and i think being the total leader at home alfie takes every vibe off of him, i think i did the best thing as what i wanted to do was push him on but couldn't leave them. I know i have tried and failed to come over before but could i come to you , it would be nice to ride some where different,i can do any day but monday. don't worry, i've not lost the plot again and i think you will see a great difference in us, just think that having to think about another horse that is still in need of support is not what we need at the moment. going to ride in the field tomorrow 'my nemisis' so that shows i'm not scared just pee'd off. we will get there.

ok then - come over and we can play in the school if you like. if you don't make it here - ring me and I will load and come over - no excuses........... Can do whichever day suits so you name a day - and how about 10.30 so you can get the kids off to school, I'll do a bit of lunch. So we can just play - no stress and we can turn Alfie in a paddock to eat or he can have a stable/barn. i will introduce you to the two youngsters - two beautiful 2 year old geldings I have on livery. Oh and Falco of course you haven't met him yet.

Tuesday it is then.
I would have loved to go to the demo - forgot all about it but unfortunately Matt comes back on a Wednesday and gets into Exeter St Davids at 7.23 so I can't get back to Grange till about 8.30. What time does it start?

Your horse sounds just like mine... the rigid, head in the air at animals in the hedgerow. Like you have been told, me too... you must let them out in front and gently persuade. I took the same ride once uptight and once with washing lines and chair seat (well practically)... couldn't believe the difference.. same cows, horses, exploding pidgeons.
