most of you will no that ive had a really hard time with nerves over the last 2 years in that 2 yrs ago i was terrified to even lead my horse after an accident on one of our others.
now im more or less back to where i was before my accident i can hack out happily, school etc but ive got an itching want to jump which is something ive never ever done before but for some reason im scared to book a lesson (otto doesnt do jumping) so i will have to be on another horse at a riding school and ive only ridden otto for years
how scary is jumping i really havent had any jumping lessons ever and have poped a few logs and small jumps but thats it

Good luck if you book the lesson. Congratz for getting where you are today after the accident! It isnt really scary as long as you stay in your comfort zone, just start low and get higher until you think no way that too high.

hi otto - well in order for you to have acheived so much over the last 2 years you must be doing something right in being able to regain your confidence so quickly as eskimogal says above, just do only what you are comfortable with and usually its the 'what if' fears and the fear of the unknown which makes us nervous so just go at your own pace and make sure you end on a good note. Don't be afraid at any time to stop, it's not a competition afterall and its all about building the foundation confidence in jumping. Oh and I would definitely explain all this to your instructor, pref before you book the lesson, maybe go watch a couple too so you can get a feel for the style of the lesson and whether you'd see youself having a fun and confidence buildign time
