Those of you who read H & H may have noticed the features regarding the fate of your local one off " post & rope" show in a field, mostly due to the cost of running a 1 day show and problems of finding suitable venues. One of the bigger issues is prize money, particularly in the progressive & advanced BSJA Affiliated SJ Classes, where a 1st prize must = 35% of the total prize money for a class.
To bolster the funds for next year we are proposing a pleasure ride in mid - late september. Aiming at 8-12 miles, minimal road work, maximum field work ( OH likes the canter stretches) but avoiding bridle paths where possible with some jumps and open or manned gates.
For those of you in the Midlands: How far would you travel to partake of a ride ( Hanbury- Worcestershire) Is the distance - too far / too short / bout right £15- do you feel this is ok for a good ride
Will you turn up if I can get it sorted !!
