This is a thread for Gingitsu, neither of us really have a clue about showing - and i certainly don't know enough to tell her!
All I know, is that they don't need to be plaited up.
So, what should Gingitsu and Sonky wear? etc
Fankoo ;D

Navy hat, navy jacket ( or tweed), canary jods, shirt and tie. simple really!
Horse...plain english Gp or show saddle, numnah is optional, but make sure it doesn't show too much under the saddle, and snaffle in Novice classes, or double/Pelham in open classes.

Are you a member of ArabianLines? There's loads of articles over there about turn-out for both ridden and Inhand.

Nuts - the article I was thinking of is for ridden.
Sonks has grey legs doesn't he? So you want trousers that will contrast with his legs so black is probably best. Shirt, tie and jacket, or waistcoat if it is hot. Shoes you can run in, so joddy boots would be perfect. A hat of some description (not necessarily a riding hat).
Sonks to be left au naturel. No black hoof polish (I don't know if clear is allowed or not). YOu can use some baby oil to highlight his face but obviously not on a hot day. He should wear either an in-hand bridle or an 'arab' inhand bridle. I think even his riding bridle, with a coupling and leather lead may be ok.
Does that help?

A smart pair of trousers and shirt
I always either wear a black or navy pair with a white or pale blue shirt if I am showing a bay or dark coloured horse. If I am showing a grey I would wear some thing light coloured cream or beige. You can wear a waist coat with small pockets so that you can put a treat in them.
You do not need to wear a hat. Some times I wear golfing shoes because they have studs and help you grip when you run.
I carry a long showing whip but a schooling whip would do.
