Excellent, I shall put that in my diary. Is it ok if my OH comes along on his bike? (We will pay for him too of course) I have a youngster and I'd rather not take her alone at the moment. Hope it all went ok yesterday. Liz

Anon The ride starts at 9.00am. I think the cost is £15. All money goes to a charity, the Look Out center does not ask for anything. ;D The length of the ride is 10 miles

More information on the ride at the "Lookout Center"
We have just finished doing the course for the ride on the 5th November.
There is a 5 mile and a 10 mile ride.
Cost is £15 + any sponsorship you can get.
This ride is in aid of "Growing Places" providing horticultural activities for Adults with learning difficulties.
Bring your OH if they are on a bike they will only pay £5 to ride round with you.,Bikes, dogs etc
The Lookout Center is a lovely place for the whole family. As well as the woods the center itself houses a lot of interesting things.

Hi Pauline, Are you part of the commitee organising this event ?? If so I would just like to feed back the comments on my yard about this event. A couple of people were intending to go along but once they realised it is a horse and BIKE ride decided it might not be a good idea as horses and bikes do mix !! For me it would be a nightmare with my horse bouncing around and trying to avoid push bikes on the same path. As luck would have it I don't think we can arrange transport for that day so that could be a show stopper anyway ! I just wanted to feed back our thoughts having read the schedule.

No I am not part of the committee.
My friend and I have just set the course as they were having problems getting some one to do it.Other people had let them down badly
There are always bikes ,push chairs, runners and walkers.
It is a public area
I'm sorry you feel that you could not come and help the Charity.
Just out of interest did you see it advertised somewhere or just on the forum
We can not stop other people going to the "Lookout Center"

Hi Pauline, My friend picked up the schedule from a tackshop. I live near the lookout and often walk my dogs/kids over there so I know that lots of families and cycles use the area. It says on the schedule that cycles are welcome to join the ride, I expect there will be more cycles than usual on the same tracks as the horses will be taking, we just felt that wouldn't be a good mix ! We still don't have transport for my friends (huge) horse but if she does find something I will come along on my old mare who will be quieter and safer amongst cyclists, prams etc. I do about 6-8 charity rides each year so I know my younger horse will get excited once she gets there and that would not be sensible in mixed company. Hey ! if we go past the 'Go Ape' course and somebody is swinging down the gliding thing I expect we will fall off anyway ! lol ! If I get to the ride I will come and say Hi ! Regards, Carol
