Can anyone help me..I need to know what to wear both for myself and colt..we are entered in classes for potential performance horse and for light horse. He is 2yo. Do I use a normal bit/bridle or an inhand one with a stallion bit? Have had so much conflicting advice!!
Dont really know what I should wear either..can you tell I am new to this?!!
Also would really appreciate a list of things to do to horse in preparation and a list of things which I must NOT forget to take to the show!!!
Thanks guys

In-hand bridle with normal snaffle bit that he is used to, leather coupling and leather lead rein (make sure its long enough just in case he decides to have antics. Bridle wants to be non girlie ie raised or flat plain leather nose and brow bands, sports horse's are workmanlike in turn out.
For you it can be shirt, tie and waistcoat or tweed jacket, shirt tie, cotton twill type trousers (no denim) and shoes/boots you can really run in, leather gloves, hard had (as its youngster).
Take normal grooming items, spare tail bandage in case you need to speedily replace a fallen one (just saves time rolling), eqpt. for doing any quarter marker/sharks teeth, body gloss (for horse!!), clean tea towel for last minute wiping over of neddy pre glossing, show cane, number elastic (looks neater than the tatty string shows provide and it gives), tack glosser for last minute titivating. Oh and lots of energy and a big smile. Just wait til you do the ridden it gets longer!!!!
