oooh i loved camp!!! make sure you take everything basically you get up and feed then have breakfast get ready for your first lesson have lesson 1 then lunch then lesson 2 then do fun stuff int he evening like quizzes or rounders etc., then have tea and you'll be falling asleep by 7pm its so tiring! at the end of the week they have a competition on the last day and people also do their pony club tests if they ahve been training for them its really good fun! i reccommend you start giving your horse 2 feeds a day to get him/her prepare as they will need 2 feeds at camp as they will be doing so much. some people even give 3!! most of all - have fun ;D its great!

Emi - the other horse in Flynn's field is going, but she's a member of Whaddon I think. She doesn't know what she'll be doing - first time for her as well.

Thanks guys! Louise - I wanted to join Whaddon, because I know a lot of people in that branch - but as it turns out, new YO teaches wih Vale of Aylesbury, and since they'll be holding rallies at the yard in the not so distant future, it seemed more sensible to join Vale. It sounds so much fun - thanks for the advice about feeds arabheaven; I have already started to try and get Connor really fit, but didn't think about the extra feed. Do the horses get turned out at all, or is there really no need, since you're riding them so much!? Also, I most probably won't know anyone at all and I'm sort of shy... people are friendly right?

My daughter will be going to her 6th PC camp this year (she will be 15, went to 1st camp on her 10th birthday!). She loves it. All her best friends have been made through PC, and they all share a lorry to sleep in.
It's probably best to ask you Camp Organiser to put you in touch with someone about your age who has been before. All PC's do it slightly differently, so questions answered here may just apply to that PC.
You will have a fantastic, but tiring time. And don't forget to say thanks to all those adults who give up their time, for free, so you can have camp.

I went 1st time last year, thought would feel silly and a bit old at 17 but it was amazing!
We arrived tuesday night and put ponies to bed and then went for tea, really nice home cooked food all week and big breakfasts - delicious! Then we all chatted and got in our teams and found out our groups and captins etc. Then went and got in our sleeping bags in the marquee! Us older ones stayed up chatting all night (15 - 19) and the younger ones went to sleep.
Sleeping is in a big tent at ours and is freezing! We get up early feed, skip out then have our brekkie. then have a flat lesson for older ones and games for youngest ones.
Put ponies back to bed for some hay and a rest, have our lunch. Then have an hou doing stable management - fun stuff and badges for the youngest ones and tests and young instructor trainging for us.
Then its jumping lesson either SJ or XC. Whish is the best, and so much fun!! This lasts 2 hours. Then its ponies to bed, hay, water, skip out, etc. Clean tack, get showers and changed and time for tea! After tea its some chill out time, we run the tuck shop, and then its optional quizzes and games and sports like rounders etc, us lot tended just to watch these!
Then little uns go bed and we go check the ponies and give extra hay and water. Then its about 10 and we exhausted! still manage to go for a drink in the cantten then fall into bed and chat all night!
On the Saturday we had a show, with SJ in the morning and dressage in the afternoon. Then on the sunday we went round the farm ride, tidied our things and left in the after noon!
It was the best time of my whole life it was brilliant! Have fun!

;D You guys are making me so excited! I'm sharing a tent with a girl from the new yard who has never been before either, which is good. She's 14, so she'll be in juniors I think... but it's ok 'cause there are a couple of other girls from the yard who will be in seniors too.
btb, I'm glad you said you went at 17, because I really want to go next year too (already, haha).
