What would you have to do in a youngstock in-hand class? Is it a case of walking around (as you would for a ridden class), then a line up, then an individual show? What should this comprise of?
Walk Around ring. Stuard (sp) will holt everyone in a corner, and one by one you trot around the ring. You will then all walk on again and be pulled into line up
Individual show
Stand up for the judge.
Walk away and trot Straight at the judge (they will move out the way) Trot straight past as are as you can and then round behind the line up!
in sport horse young stock you have to do a triangle, so you would walk to the judge, stand up while he looks around, and then walk away, then you trot round, however im not an expert, and my class was in a rather small ring so we had to go in individally,
just out of interest is it the same for little local shows ?? wont be doing them for a while, but i thought there was no harm in asking while the thread was up Also can you enter youngsters in a normal in hand horse class ??
geegee - I went to a local show at the weekend with my youngster (first time!) and the format was as described above (and we came 2nd!!!!!!!!! was very chuffed!!!) Think you can enter youngsters in other in-hand classes - there was a girl in my youngstock class that had just won the "best condition" class with her 2 year old.
