Well Jeavon did another show yesterday, first one since the RIHS qualifier, initially got called in 2nd then did her show and the judge instructed her what to do which included opening her up (not Peppi's strongest point as she is an energy conservationist-unless someone claps) so Jeavon did lovely but not her best show and then extended in canter (quite obviously covering the groudn but not a full on gallop), judge dropped her down to 5th, now I have NO problem with this placing at all, nor did Jeavon, so why did Jeavon leave ring in tears, cos the battleaxe, gave her a rossette and said, I dropped you as your are the most experience in here on the most experienced horse and you did the most awful show she had ever seen and disobeyed her instructions!!! Jeavon was mortified, she came out and said did it look awful and a line of spectators said it was one of her best!! Talk about encouraging youngsters to stay with it.
I am writing to show sec and BSPA to make formal complaint.
The best of it was I thought ah well Jeavon being over sensative at first, but then the lady who came 2nd came up to us to say she had been rude to her also and to top it all same judge did the appaloosa'a told a competitors mum her daughter could join class if she came up from another ring, which she did then refused to let her in!

I would definately write and complain but keep the emotions out of the letter. Stress that you have no problems with the placings but are concerned about the comments.

It was a beautiful day - I have the sunburn to prove it! Was going to go to Deeping to watch but changed plan. Have had another comment about the judging there too, not from a competitor but a viewer - wasn't regarding yours so not sure if same judge or not. What was the ground like - I went there years ago on a hot day to jump N/C and Fox - turned round and came home as it was like concrete

Ground was superb, not slippy but very springy from the recent rains, both J and I said it felt like walking on shoes with spongey soles.

Good on you for speaking up, you must get that letter sent off! The only way the showing world is going to change for the better is if people stand up and be counted, we don't have to stand for rudeness and bent judging!
