ok have found a nice show in august. it has jumping but it has 2'6 jumping with 2;9 jump off fences me and zac are confidently jumping cross poles and i'd say 2'0-2'3 fences they have a "childrens jumping" ring which has a 2'3 class for inexperienced riders/horses and a note saying "there is no upper age limit for this class but competitiors are asked to enter in the spirit which they are intended i.e competitiors in these classes are not expected to enter the jumping in ring 3" ... would i be ok to enter zaccy into this class? we have never jumped at a show, only at home. i just dont want to be mean to little kids or have parents looking down at me tutting! toni xx

I'd go in the little ring and if he's good you can always say "what a clever/brave baby at your first show" as you are coming out of the ring. It's your first sj show and it's not as though you go sj every week is it?

I would enter. Zac is inexperienced as far as jumping goes (although by the sounds of it, he's becoming a superstar endurance horse). Plus, I doubt it will be as pressurised and competitive as the main jumping class.

and you are less likely to get scary stuff in the mini ring, so that's another good reason to do that class
